Where do we live?

This half term in geography we have been learning about where we live. We’ve found out the names of the continents and oceans and can find the UK on a world map. We know the names of the countries and capital cities inside the UK and can tell you some facts about these countries. Over the last few weeks we’ve been learning more about Liverpool and Wavertree and enjoyed going on a local area field trip which included a visit to our local library! To finish our topic we did some fantastic writing and drew our own maps to show the route we took and what we spotted in Wavertree.

Welcome back Year 1!

I would like to welcome back year one for another fun half term of learning. Over the next few weeks we will be doing some poetry about our senses, learning how to add and subtract two digit numbers, making moving pictures in d/t and learning lots of interesting facts about our body. I am really looking forward to the coming weeks and I hope you are too!

Welcome to new year one

Art and Science

Year one have been enjoying the great outdoors this term, having ‘Plants’ as our science topic and ‘Andy Goldsworthy’ as our art topic. The children enjoyed looking at the different plants that were growing around the school and then using them to create an ‘Andy Goldsworthy’ picture.

Timetable and Overview

Hello Again,

We have updated our timetable, so that we are now doing our Phonics and Guided Reading in the morning. Please take a look at the changes and let me know if you have any questions.

Reading Activity Afternoon
We had a great afternoon yesterday when some of our parents came in for a reading activity afternoon. The children showed their parents and carers the different activities that we do during our daily guided read. We all had a very enjoyable afternoon and many thanks to the parents and carers who attended.
