Year 6 have settled into life in their new class very well. We are all looking forward to a positive year, learning lots of new and exciting things.

Y6 Leavers’ Performance

Year 6 were amazing on Thursday morning, performing to their parents. They also did a fantastic performance in front of the rest of the school on Wednesday afternoon, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all! Year 6 received a t-shirt with all their names, a fabulous yearbook (the first of its kind at Our Lady’s), a pen and a special headteacher award for personal achievement.  It’s been an emotional time for everyone in Year 6 – they will all be hugely missed – but they have grown and matured into brilliant young people who will achieve great things in the future. Well done to everyone in Year 6 and come back to see us when you have settled into your new schools.

The Great British T-Shirt Competition

Year  6 have been busy this week making business plans, doing market research and designing their t-shirts as well as composing a rap to use as advertising. They have all worked wonderfully and have designed great t-shirts. Next week, it is all about the production of t-shirts and bringing their ideas to the Dragon’s Den – Mrs. Knowles and Miss Peacock! Keep up the great work.

Congratulations to Year 6

Well done to everyone in Year 6 for completing their Key Stage 2 S.A.Ts.  Everybody worked extremely hard to prepare and you gave your all to be the best you can be. You made me even more proud of you this week by how you dealt with the challenge. You are all a credit to yourselves and your parents. Mr. McQuiston.

Investigating Coasts

We’ve had lots of fun in our geography lessons this half term learning all about coasts. We’ve learned LOTS of new vocabulary as we looked at how coasts are formed and how they change over time. We loved developing our own strategies for trying to prevent coastal erosion and created our own mini beaches and methods of defence to investigate. We explored different types of coasts and how different features would appeal to different types of visitors and holiday makers. We enjoyed pretending to be tourists, travel agents, local residents, sea anglers and more as we investigated various issues around coastal development. What a busy half term…I think we’re all due a relaxing break!

Remembrance Assembly

Well done to Year 6 for a brilliant performance at today’s Remembrance Service. The children read poems and displayed their poppy wreaths that can now be seen in the corridor outside the assembly hall.

E-safety@Goodison Park

Congratulations to the girls chosen to go to Goodison Park yesterday to learn about e-saefty. It was very informative and enjoyable. The girls’ behaviour was a credit to the school. Well done!

We made poppy wreaths with British Values surrounding them and posters that remind us all things British.
