Geography
Intent
At Our Lady of Good Help, the Geography curriculum is designed to inspire children’s curiosity and fascination with the world and their place in it. The children develop an understanding of both human and physical geography. They build knowledge and understanding of their locality and the wider world. We ensure that there is a systematic approach to the teaching of geographical vocabulary throughout the school. Geography is an investigative subject: it is therefore through an enquiry-based approach that the children develop a range of skills including enquiry, reasoning, analysing and fieldwork. It is through this approach that we provoke thought, questions and encourage children to discover answers to their own questions.Â
