Music
At Our Lady of Good Help, music makes an important contribution to the life and culture of our school. From parish masses and assemblies to performances throughout the year, music is a key element of the most memorable moments of a child’s educational journey. We aim for fun, engaging, and inspiring music lessons through an exploration of songs, lyrics and movement. Our goal is for children to be exposed to a wide variety of musical genres in order to develop their own appreciation of music throughout the ages, from ABBA to Bach. Each child will be given the opportunity and actively encouraged to play a musical instrument, from classroom instruments to peripatetic instrument lessons with the visiting staff. Here at Our Lady of Good Help, we aspire to embrace the collaborative nature of music. It brings pupils of different cultures and backgrounds together, as they work in harmony, to share bonds of support and trust.
“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” Plato
